The Education Network provides 1:1 Alternative Provision Tutors to work on a 1:1 basis with Looked after Children (LAC) with a diverse set of needs, including Social Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Tutors will successfully implement teaching in core subject areas (Maths, English, Science) based around each individual’s EHCP. As a 1:1 Tutor you will help students overcome their barriers to learning, l have a calm, patient, empathetic manner-whilst also having de-escalation strategies to overcome displays of challenging behaviour. You must also be comfortable in liaising with school contacts as well as parents/carers and other external agencies as necessary. Tuitions take place both virtually and in a variety of public spaces i.e., libraries, community centres, on school site and care homes.
We also provide tutors to schools to enhance pupils learning and for catch-up programmes across all subjects. These either take place virtually or at school.
1:1 Tutoring is a very rewarding role, working with students on an individual basis without the distraction of being in the classroom. You can develop a healthy and empowering relationship with students and facilitate a positive learning experience with successful outcomes.
The team at The Education Network have years of experience placing tutors and will give you support and guidance every step of the way.
To work as a tutor, you must hold a QTS, QTLS, PGCE or a UK recognised teaching qualification, be up to date on the current national curriculum and be able to provide teaching references.
