SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Wyke, West Yorkshire
Salary: £90 - £100 (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time Opportunity
Start Date: ASAP
Are you a SEMH Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs? Are you a SEMH Teaching Assistant who holds resilience, empathy and commitment to help pupils thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment?
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a caring and forward-thinking school in Wyke, where every child is valued and supported to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom
  • Build trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe, understood and motivated
  • Support behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
  • Contribute to personalised learning plans and interventions
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs (school or care setting)
  • A calm, patient and compassionate approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding
