SEND school in Leeds, and we are seeking a dedicated
SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This role is perfect for someone who is patient, enthusiastic, and committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
The Role: As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech & language difficulties, and learning disabilities.
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored support and interventions.
- Provide 1:1 support or assist small groups with learning, communication, and emotional regulation.
- Encourage independence and build pupils’ confidence in and outside of the classroom.
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm, nurturing learning environment.
Requirements:- Previous experience working with children or young people with additional needs (school, care, or community settings).
- A calm, compassionate, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, Health & Social Care, Psychology, or Education Studies are desirable but not essential.
