Learning Support Assistant
Pay Rate: £90/day
Location: Leeds/Bradford
The Education Network is looking for a dedicated educational professional to support learners at alternative provision across the Leeds and Bradford area. Being a Learning Support Assistant in a special needs school is an important role which directly affects the day to day lives of young people. You will be supporting learners to ensure that they achieve not only their academic but social and emotional goals.

Key Responsibilities - Provide one-to-one and group support: Assist pupils with challenging behaviour in managing their emotions and behaviour, ensuring they are engaged in their learning.
- Implement behaviour management strategies: Work with the SENCo and teaching staff to develop and implement effective behaviour management plans.
- Support academic progress: Help pupils understand and engage with the curriculum, providing tailored support where necessary.
- Foster a safe learning environment: Ensure the classroom remains a safe and supportive space for all pupils.
- Collaborate with staff and parents: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure consistent support for each pupil.
- Assist with personal care needs: Where necessary, provide personal care support to pupils, always maintaining their dignity and comfort.
About You - Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEN and/or challenging behaviour is essential.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge: Understanding of various behaviour management techniques and an awareness of SEN practices.
